The Civil War in the East

1st Michigan Cavalry Regiment

The 1st lost 14 officers and 150 enlisted men killed and mortally wounded and 6 officers and 244 enlisted men by diseaseduring the Civil War. The regiment is honored along with the other regiments of the Wolverine Brigade by a monument at Gettysburg.
