April 14 - April 29, 1861	Organized at large
April 17	Mustered in for three months service under Colonel Alexander M. McCook
April 19	Moved to Washington, D.C. and duty in the Defenses of that city
June	Attached to Schenck's Brigade, Tyler's Division, McDowell's Army of Northeast Virginia.
June 17 and July 9	Actions at Vienna, Va.
July 16-21	McDowell's advance on Manassas, Va.
July 17	Occupation of Fairfax Court House, Va.
July 21	Battle of Bull Run. Cover retreat to Washington.
August 2, 1861	Ordered to Ohio and mustered out, expiration of term.

	The regiment was reorganized for three years service in the fall of 1861, serving in the western theater.
