Organized for three months service at Camp Curtin, Harrisburg under Colonel Frederick S. Stumbaugh, Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Welsh and Major James Given

Moved by rail to Cockeysville, Md., the destruction of the railroad bridge preventing the regiment from proceeding to Washington as intended.

April 23

Returned to York, Pa., and duty there.

June 1

Moved to Chambersburg. Attached to Wyncoop's 2nd Brigade, Keim's 2nd Division, Patterson's Army.

June 16

Moved by rail to Hagerstown, then went into camp at Funkstown

June 23

Ordered toward the Potomac, encamping about four miles from the river

July 2

Falling Waters (Support). Crossed the Potomac and advanced to Martinsburg.
