Organized at Philadelphia and mustered in at Washington Square, Philadelphia, Pa. under Colonel William D. Lewis, Jr., Lieutenant Colonel Charles Wilhelm and Major Alexander Niebold

Moved via Perryville to Baltimore, Md., with duty near Fort McHenry

May 22

At Federal Hill in Baltimore

Companies B and K under Captain Peter Fritz at the National Arsenal at Pikesville removing stores to Fort McHenry

Companies B, C, D, E, G, H and K and part of I reenlisted for ten days at the request of General Banks.

Relieved by the 5th New York Infantry and moved to Philadelphia

August 6

Mustered out.

 

Sergeant Major Charles H. T. Collis went on to become colonel of the 114th Pennsylvania Infantry and a brevet major general, earning the Medal of Honor.
