2nd United States Dragoons

The Second United States Dragoons was originally known as the Second Regiment of Dragoons. It was formed in 1836 during the Seminole War. Its designation was changed in August of 1861 to the Second Cavalry Regiment

August 3	Designation changed to Second Cavalry Regiment
