June and July Organized at Baltimore, Maryland for six months service under the Command of Colonel William H. Revere, Jr., Lieutenant Colonel William E. Ross and Major J. Townsend Deniel.

October 18 Operating with the 34th Massachusetts Infantry, Minor’s Indiana Battery of Light Artillery and Cole’s Battalion of Maryland Cavalry, drove Imboden’s Confederate cavalry raiders out of Charles Town.
December Assigned to 1st Brigade, 1st Division, Department of West Virginia
