Organized at Camp Taylor, Cleveland, Ohio. It was one of the “Hundred Days Men regiments” intended for short term rear echelon duties in the summer of 1864.

May 19 Left State for Washington, D. C. Attached to 1st Brigade, DeRussy’s Division, 22nd Army Corps.
July Assigned to 2nd Brigade, DeRussy’s Division, 22nd Army Corps
July 11-12 Repulse of Early’s attack on Washington
August Assigned to duty in the Defenses of Washington south of the Potomac as garrison at Fort Ethan Allen and in fortifications south of the Potomac.
September 4 Mustered out
