Organized at Camp Chase, Ohio. It was one of the “Hundred Days Men regiments” intended for short term rear echelon duties in the summer of 1864.
May 12 Mustered in under Colonel William H. Vodrey
May 15 Left State for Washington, D.C.
May-June Guard duty at Forts Slemmer, Totten, Slocum and Stevens, attached to 1st Brigade, Haskins’ Division, 22nd Army Corps
June 8 Moved to White House Landing, then to Bermuda Hundred.
June-August Duty in the trenches at Bermuda Hundred, City Point and Fort Pocohontas assigned to 1st Brigade, 3rd Division, 10th Army Corps, Army of the James.
August 29 Ordered to Camp Chase, Ohio
September 13 Mustered out
