“8th Union League Regiment”
The 214th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment was recruited in Philadelphia and in Lancaster and Northampton Counties, and mustered 1,400 men during the American Civil War. It lost 24 enlisted men to disease during its year of service.

April 8 | Left Pennsylvania for Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. Assignerd to guard and provost duty in the Shenandoah Valley attached to the 2nd Brigade, 3rd Division, Army of the Shenandoah. |
July | Attached to Garrison of Washington, 22nd Corps |
September 25 | Captain Thomas F. Corvell of Company F was dismissed. |
November | Major Worrall was orderd with a detachment of the reigment to Annapolis and took command of the post there, relieving seven companies of the 213th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment under Colonel John A. Gorgas. |
