Battle of Sharpsburg (Antietam)

The battery was commanded by Captain William D. Brown and was equipped with two 10-ponder Parrott Rifles and one 3″ Ordnance Rifle. It remained at Harpers Ferry through the 17th amd did not reach Antietam until the 18th.

Battle of Gettysburg

Captain Brown was mortally wounded on July 2.

12 men from the battery surrendered with Lee’s army.
