Confederate Regiments & Batteries > Virginia

The 35th Virginia Infantry regiment was attempted to be organized during the Summer of 1861 in Northwestern Virginia under the command of Colonel Alfred Beckley (West Point Class of 1823), Lieutenant Colonel W.L. Jackson, and Major P.B. Adams. Beckley’s nomination as colonel was never approved by the Virginia Secession Commission, possibly because Beckley was very opposed to Virginia’s secession. The regiment’s organization was never completed, and no roster or muster rolls exist.
