| May | Assigned to the Eastern Shore of Virginia (the part of Virginia in the Delmarva Peninsula disconnected from the rest of the state by Chesapeake Bay) in the Department of Norfolk. |
| November | Ordered to evacuate the Eastern Shore but was unable to do so and efforts to reorganize the regiment were unsuccessful. |
