March-April | Created from Company D, Wise Legion Artillery, under the command of Captain William Turner. Another battery known as the Goochland Light Artillery existed at the time. It had been captured and paroled at Fort Donelson and was not released until Captain Turner’s battery was dissolved, so the two batteries were not active at the same time. |
