The men from North Carolina were transferred to Company D, 12th Virginia Light Artillery Battalion

January-February Assigned to Bogg’s Battalion, Light Artillery, District of Cape Fear. The battery mustered 48 men.
May-June Assigned to 1st Military District, Department of North Carolina and Southern Virginia.

Siege of Petersburg

Assigned to Bogg’s Battalion, Artillery, Department of North Carolina and Southern Virginia. Equipped with three 12-pounder Napoleons and one 12-pounder Howitzer.

October-April Assigned to Bogg’s-Sturdivant’s Battalion, Artillery, 4th Corps, Army of Northern Virginia.
1865
March Converted to heavy artillery and stationed in the outer line of defenses south of Richmond.

Appomattox Campaign

Evacuated the Richmond defenses and served as infantry during the retreat to Appomattox Court House.
