The 215th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment mustered 1,117 men during the American Civil War. it lost 11 enlisted men to disease during its three months service. This was the last regiment recruited by Pennsylvania during the war.

1865
April 21 Organized at Camp Cadwalader in Philadelphia under the command of Colonel Francis Wister, Lieutenant Colonel Francies B. Jones and Major Andrew T. Goodman. Thomas C. Rea was Adjutant and James A. Hawks was Surgeon.Twenty four year old Colonel Wister had been a Captain in the 12th United States Infantry Regiment. Lieutenant Colonel Jones was Captain in the 149th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, and Major Goodman was Captain in the 119th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment.

  • Company H – Philadelphia and Lancaster Counties – Captain Andrew Leibley
  • Company I – Philadelphia and Montgomery Counties – Captain William Rush
  • Company K – Philadelphia Counties – Captain Alexander Gray
April 26 Left Philadelphia for Delaware. The regiment was assigned to duty in detachments on the Eastern Shore of Delaware.
June Moved to Fort Delaware to guard Confederate prisoners.
July 31 The 215th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment mustered out.
