April Organized for three months’ United States service under Colonel George Lyons, Lieutenant Colonel Charles G. Waterbury and Major Obediah F. Wentworth
April 20 Left State for Anapolis on the steamship Alabama and the ship Montgomery
April 26 Mustered in at Annapolis
May 8 Advanced to Relay House outside Baltimore with the 6th Massachusetts
May 19 Detatchment of 600 men under Lieeutenant Colonel Waterbury and Major Wentworth went into Baltimore by train and took posession of Federal Hill, remaining until relieved by Pennsylvania troops a few days later
June 8 Proceeded to Washington to duty in the Defenses of Washington at Kalorama
June Crossed into Virginia and attached to Porter’s 1st Brigade, Hunter’s 2nd Division, McDowell’s Army of Northeast Virginia
