October 25 Created by consolidating Companies A, C & D of the 20th Georgia Cavalry Battalion with seven companies of the 62nd Georgia Partisan Rangers under the command of Colonel Joel R. Griffin. The order to consolidate was originally issued in July but was not executed until October. Assigned to Dearing’s Brigade, Cavalry Corps, Army of Northern Virginia.
