The 20th Georgia Cavalry Battalion was organized with seven companies under command of Lieutenant Colonel John M. Millen:

Company A – Captain Moses J. Smith
Company B – Captain William G. Thompson
Company C – Captain J. G. Cress
Company D – Captain William A. Lane
Company E – Captain A. J. Love
Company F – Captain J. B. Peacock

June Assigned to the Military District of Georgia, Department of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.
