| July 20 | Mustered out at end of term. The guns were left with the army and manned by detachments of 8th and 29th Regiments New York Infantry, designated as Bookwood’s Battery, which later the 2nd Independent Battery. About 40 members reentered service with an artillery company which eventually became the 4th Independent New York Battery. |
