Organized at Camp Chase, Ohio. It was one of the “Hundred Days Men regiments” intended for short term rear echelon duties in the summer of 1864.
May 12 Mustered in and left State for Washington, D.C. under Colonel Henry C. Ashwell.
May-July Assigned to garrison duty at Forts Whipple, Woodbury, Chase, Tilinghast and Albany, Defenses of Washington, south of Potomac attached to 1st Brigade, DeRussy’s Division, 22nd Army Corps
July 11-12 Repulse of Early’s attack on Washington
August 20 Mustered out
